ENTRADA CORTA Y DESCANSO DEL MENTIDERO POR PRESENTACIÓN Y RECOMENDACIÓN DE UN LIBRO

Esta semana nos hemos visto forzados a hacer una parada en las entradas del Mentidero de los Comediantes, puesto que varios ensayos, clases, desplazamientos largos y la preparación de la presentación del libro: La lengua del cielo y otros relatos, me han impedido preparar la anécdota que continuaba con las desavenencias literarias y biográficas entre Miguel de Cervantes y Lope de Vega y que prometo para la próxima semana.

Aunque de todas las excusas para mi “no anécdota” la más importante, y la que da pie a lo que voy a tratar en esta entrada corta, es la de la edición de del libro La lengua del cielo y otros relatos, que ha publicado mi amigo Manuel Zuloaga Jiménez y del que, cómo digo y veis en la foto, he tenido el honor de presentar.

Quiero recomendar la lectura de este libro por varias razones; porque está escrito por un amigo; porque es de lectura rápida y fácil, pero de gran calidad estilística; porque está revestido (con mucha inteligencia y sin empalagar) de erudición cinematográfica, literaria, teatral, filológica y cultural y porque sus 24 relatos son increíbles. Y cuando digo increíbles no solo los pondero como imperdibles (que también), sino que quiero remarcar que son sabrosas narraciones llenas de fantasias, misterios, casualidades, crímenes, amores, desamores, acoso escolar y no escolar, etc.

Un resumen de lo que podrán encontrar, y que me ahorra seguir escribiendo, es lo que se lee en la contraportada de dicho libro:

“Asesinatos sin resolver, casas encantadas, fantasmas, doppelgängers, una sirena y un manuscrito maldito. Estos son algunos de los elementos que encontrarás en las páginas de este libro. Cada uno de los veinticuatro relatos se puede leer de manera independiente, pero casi todos ellos guardan alguna conexión entre sí que tendrás que descubrir. ¿Te atreves? SHORT POST AND BREAK FROM “THE MENTIDERO”, BECAUSE OF PRESENTATION AND RECOMMENDATION OF A BOOK

This week I have been forced to make a stop at the entrances of the Mentidero de los Comediantes, since several rehearsals, classes, long travels and and the preparation of the presentation of the book: La lengua del cielo y otros relatos (The language of heaven and other stories), have prevented me from preparing the anecdote that continued with the literary and biographical disagreements between Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega and that I promise for next week.

Although of all the excuses for my «no anecdote» the most important, and the one that gives rise to what I will deal with in this short entry, is the edition of the book La lengua del cielo y otros relatos (The language of heaven and other stories), which has published my friend Manuel Zuloaga Jiménez and of which, as I say and you see in the photo, I had the honor to present.

I want to recommend reading this book for several reasons; because it is written by a friend; because it is fast and easy to read, but of great stylistic quality; because it is covered (with a lot of intelligence and without impaling) of cinematographic, literary, theatrical, philological and cultural erudition and because its 24 stories are incredible. And when I say incredible I not only put them as safety pins (which also), but I want to emphasize that they are nice narratives full of fantasies, mysteries, coincidences, crimes, loves, heartbreak, school and non-school bullying, etc.

A summary of what you will find, and which saves me writing, is what is read on the back of the book:

“Unsolved murders, haunted houses, ghosts, doppelgängers, a mermaid and a cursed manuscript. These are some of the items you will find in the pages of this book. Each of the twenty-four stories can be read independently, but almost all of them have some connection with each other that you will have to discover. Do you dare?
